Wednesday, Representative Josh Meggers, a Republican from Grundy Center, announced his reelection bid for Iowa House District 54.
“I’ve been honored to serve as your voice in the Statehouse,” Meggers said. “We’ve accomplished a great deal in Des Moines – from protecting your individual rights to delivering tax relief to allow you to keep more of your hard-earned money. We must continue the trend of common sense, conservative policies in the Iowa Legislature, and I believe that’s exactly what I can continue to deliver.”
Meggers is a lifelong Iowan. He grew up in Buckingham, Iowa and graduated from Hudson High School. In addition to serving in the Iowa Legislature, Meggers serves as a State Trooper.
Speaker of the Iowa House Pat Grassley of New Hartford said Meggers brings his experience in law enforcement to the Statehouse.
“Josh Meggers has become a valuable member of the House Republican caucus,” Grassley said. “With over twenty years of experience in law enforcement, he is a great resource for policies that affect public safety. House District 54 must re-elect Meggers so that he can continue to deliver common-sense policies for his district.”
Meggers was first elected to the Iowa House in 2022. He is seeking his third term in the Iowa House. In the House, he serves as the Vice Chair of the Labor and Workforce Committee. He also serves on the Agriculture, Public Safety, Transportation and Ways and Means Committees.
House District 54 covers all of Hardin and Grundy Counties and a portion of western Black Hawk County.
