(Bob Fisher, KGLO)–A Belmond woman accused of trafficking a teenage girl and facing life in prison has pleaded not guilty.
According to court documents, 41-year-old Amanda Goff is accused of taking a 14-year-old girl on January 21st to a hotel in Perry with the intent to sell the victim into commercial sexual activity. Authorities allege that upon arriving at the hotel, Goff spoke with another individual to discuss a price for the victim to engage in sexual activity in a hotel room.
The criminal complaint states the victim recorded the conversation, which included an agreed-upon price.
Goff was arrested in late October and is charged with human trafficking of a juvenile, a Class A felony punishable by life in prison without the possibility of parole. She also faces additional charges, including pandering, using a juvenile to commit certain offenses, and conspiracy to commit a forcible felony—all Class C felonies—as well as two counts of solicitation, each a Class D felony.
Goff was scheduled to appear in Dallas County District Court Friday morning for her arraignment hearing but instead filed a written plea of not guilty on Thursday.
Court records do not yet list a potential trial date.
