The Allison City Council recently met and approved contracts for park maintenance and snow removal during its regular meeting.
The council awarded the 2026 Wilder Park mowing contract to GreenBelt Seeding in the amount of $22,000. The decision followed a recommendation from the Park Board, which cited concerns with performance during the previous mowing season. Other bids ranged from $13,900 to more than $32,000.
Council members also approved a snow removal contract for the 2025-26 winter season with Stirling Lawn Care at a rate of $160 per push. One additional bid was disqualified for failing to include a certificate of insurance. Council member Stirling abstained from both votes.
In other business, the council approved multiple fund transfers, including moving more than $434,000 from the 2015 Lagoon Project fund into Capital Projects to clear the balance. A separate $900 transfer was approved from LOST funds to street repairs.
The council also discussed enforcement of the city’s sidewalk snow ordinance and agreed to mail winter reminders and ordinance information to residents.
