Three people were injured Sunday morning in a rollover crash on Highway 20 in Grundy County. According to the Iowa State Patrol, the crash happened just before 7:30 a.m. near the 209-mile marker on westbound Highway 20 — about a mile from the Parkersburg‑Grundy Center exit.

Authorities say a 2005 Ford Explorer left the roadway to the right. The driver lost control while trying to steer back into the lane, sending the vehicle into a ditch. It rolled over three times before coming to rest on its roof in a field.

The driver, 24-year-old Dilcia Hernandez-Morales (DILL-sya her-NAN-dez-MO-ra-les) of Peoria, Illinois, was injured and transported by Grundy Center EMS to Grundy County Memorial Hospital. Two children in the vehicle, ages seven and one, were also injured and taken to the same hospital.

The driver was wearing a seatbelt, credited with saving her life, while the children were not restrained. The Iowa State Patrol was assisted by multiple agencies, and the crash remains under investigation.
