
The Hampton City Council Monday met in regular session and approved on the second reading an ordinance which proposes a new no-parking zone on the south side of 3rd Avenue Southeast from 4th Street Southeast to the alley between 4th Street Southeast and 3rd Street Southeast.
In other business, the Hampton Council approved a work order proposal from ISG for the rehab project at 4 and 6 1st Street Northwest and received a quarterly update from library director Suzy Knipfel. Knipfel updated the council on projects at the library which included the north side wall project and the new library sign. She also discussed the $10,000 gift the library will receive from the Carnegie Corporation as announced in October.
Mayor Steve Birdsall also presented a certificate of recognition to Franklin REC for their work on the Light Up the Night project at Band Shell Park.
