The Iowa Falls City Council met in regular session Monday, Dec. 15, at City Hall, approving several items related to grant agreements, ordinances and appointments.
Council members set Jan. 19 as the date for public hearings on proposed fiscal year 2026 through 2030 grant agreements with the Iowa Falls Chamber of Commerce/Main Street and the Iowa Falls Area Development Corporation.
The council also approved payment on the Princess Rehab Project, authorizing $179,034.84 to Steege Construction.
Appointments were made to the Hardin County Sanitary Waste Disposal Commission, naming Bruce Thies as representative and Kaci Elkin as alternate. An appointment to the hotel-motel tax advisory board was tabled until January.
The meeting concluded with the administration of the oath of office, as Mayor Mike Emerson and council member Steve Klein were sworn in for new terms, along with park board members Bernal Koehrsen III and Keith Carson.
