Closing the December portion of their schedule, the Dike-New Hartford basketball teams split a home doubleheader with East Marshall Monday.

In a lopsided affair, the girls won 49-16. They held the Mustangs to single digit tallies in each period, jumping out to a large lead and building throughout. The win moved the Wolverines to 4-4, securing a .500 record at the break after a 1-4 start to the season.

The boys fell 83-57. East Marshall had the Wolverines doubled up with a 24-12 advantage through the first stanza. While DNH recovered defensively by playing mostly point-for-point throughout the middle two quarters, the Mustangs had a 26-16 advantage in the fourth to close it out. DNH enters the break at 3-5.

They’ll return to action Monday, January 5 by hosting Union.
