The Hampton Police Department issued 33 citations for snow ordinance violations during the most recent winter storm.

According to the City of Hampton mobile alert system, the snow ordinance went into effect shortly after 6 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 28, and remained in place until it was lifted shortly after 9 a.m. Monday, Dec. 30.

City of Hampton officials report 33 citations were issued between midnight and about 4:30 a.m. Monday, Dec. 29, for vehicles parked on city streets in violation of the ordinance. As a reminder when the ordinance is in effect, vehicles, trailers, or equipment cannot be parked on city streets or alleys.

Earlier this year, during a snowstorm in late November, 91 citations were issued for snow ordinance violations.
