
At the holiday break, two teams are tied atop the North Iowa Cedar League girls basketball standings. #2 (2A) Denver and #5 (1A) Gladbrook-Reinbeck are each 5-0. Three teams are 5-1, including #10 (2A) Grundy Center, Jesup and Hudson.
The next tier includes three teams at 3-3: Aplington-Parkersburg, Oelwein and Wapsie Valley. Dike-New Hartford is alone in ninth place at 3-4. Sumner-Fredericksburg and Union are each 2-4, with the Cougars owning the head-to-head tiebreaker.
East Marshall and South Hardin are each 1-4, but haven’t played each other yet to break the tie. Columbus Catholic is 1-6 and AGWSR rounds out the standings at 0-6.
#2 (1A) Wapsie Valley leads the boys standings at 6-0, and Grundy Center is 5-0. Aplington-Parkersburg is alone in third place at 5-1. Three teams are 4-1, including #6 (2A) Denver, #9 (2A) Union and East Marshall.
Having played the most league games so far, Columbus Catholic is 5-3, followed by South Hardin at 3-2, Hudson at 3-3, Dike-New Hartford at 3-4 and Sumner-Fredericksburg at 2-5. Four teams are winless in conference play. Gladbrook-Reinbeck is 0-5; AGWSR, Jesup and Oelwein are each 0-6.
