The AP/GC girls wrestling team will begin its January schedule Friday by traveling to Eddyville-Blakesburg-Fremont for the Megan Black Invitational. They’ll face teams mostly from south central Iowa.
Some of the possible favorites in their weight classes include #3 (1A-120) Grace Storjohann, who’s 21-3 at 120. Caylee Harken is 19-8 at 140 and Zoey Uhlenhopp is 17-8 at 155. Those three each won their weight classes at the tournament last season.
The team was the runner-up at last year’s tournament, with only the hosts finishing in front. It’ll start at 5:00 p.m.
