Parkersburg City Council sets agenda for Jan. 5 meeting

The Parkersburg City Council will meet in regular session Monday, Jan. 5, at 7 p.m. at the Parkersburg Civic Center.

Council members are expected to hear reports from the public works department, fire department, police department, ambulance service, library and Parkersburg Economic Development. Under public works, the council will consider a quote for sanitary sewer cleaning, maintenance and televising.

The council will also consider designating the Parkersburg Eclipse News-Review as the city’s official newspaper for 2026.

City Engineer Lee Gallentine is scheduled to provide updates on Wemple Street, Newell Avenue and the East Third Street Alley projects. Council members will consider pay estimate No. 9 for the Newell Avenue reconstruction project and pay estimate No. 2 for the East Third Street Alley reconstruction project.

Two public hearings are scheduled, including one to amend the city’s home occupation and home industry permit process and another to consider approval of the Neuroth-Clay Addition as a minor subdivision.
