A power outage yesterday (Sun) afternoon affected hundreds of MidAmerican Energy customers in Butler County, including Dumont and Aredale. The outage began shortly after 3 p.m. and impacted approximately 432 customers in the area. Reports from residents indicated homes and businesses in both communities were without electricity during the outage.
Crews were dispatched soon after the outage was reported to investigate the problem. Media Relations Management with MidAmerican Energy says line workers located a broken component on an overhead power line that caused the service interruption. Once the issue was identified, crews completed repairs in the field.
Power was restored to all affected customers at approximately 4:50 Sunday afternoon.
