CGD Board of Education sets meeting agenda for Jan. 8

The Clarion-Goldfield-Dows Community School District Board of Education will meet Thursday, Jan. 8, beginning with a closed work session at 3:30 p.m. at the district office in Clarion.

The board is expected to enter a closed session under Iowa Code to review principal candidate pools, before reconvening in open session for its regular meeting at 4:30 p.m.

During the regular meeting, board members will hear an educational report from the district’s dean of students and behavior interventionist, along with the superintendent’s report. Old business includes discussion on open gym usage.

New business items include consideration of the district’s at-risk and dropout prevention plan and budget for the 2026-27 school year. The board will also take action on a consent agenda that includes personnel items, contract approvals, fundraiser requests and the second reading of several district policies.
