The Rowan City Council approved a series of financial and administrative items during its regular meeting Monday night.
The council took action on a 28E agreement related to county maintenance on city streets. Following legal advice, members voted to add language addressing gross negligence in the agreement’s liability section. Additional clarification will be sought from the county engineer.
Library Director Josephine Miller presented a report and budget update. The council approved a $3,000 annual city contribution to the Rowan Public Library.
Several resolutions were approved, including a 2 percent wage increase for city employees, maintaining mileage reimbursement at 62.5 cents per mile, and updates to depository, internal control and investment policies.
Fire Department agenda items were tabled until February.
