The West Fork Warhawks will host the North Butler Bearcats for a Top of Iowa East Conference basketball doubleheader Tuesday night, which’ll air on 99 The Wave.

The Warhawk girls returned from the holiday break early and picked up a nonconference win over Iowa Falls-Alden on Saturday. Brylee Dickman leads the team in scoring and rebounding, while Zada Huff ranks second in scoring, trailing Dickman by just a few points. Evelyn Hitzhusen leads the Warhawks in assists.

North Butler enters the matchup led by Jady Thorne in scoring. Zoey Thompson leads the Bearcats in both rebounds and assists.

West Fork Head Coach Rodney Huber says his team cannot afford to overlook North Butler.

“North Butler’s gotten better,” says Huber. “You know, we’ve obviously it’s been pretty one sided for us in the last few years, but I think they’ve gotten better. They’ve have a couple pretty solid guards, one that shoots the ball. The Thompson girl is a good all around guard and then they have another girl that shoots the three pretty well. So, definitely can’t overlook them.”

On the boys side, the Warhawks also defeated Iowa Falls-Alden on Saturday. Zander Hansen leads West Fork in scoring, Keston Lambertson leads the team in rebounding, and Ayden Bonner leads in assists.

Jarrett Shear leads the Bearcats in scoring, Wrigley Endelman leads the team in rebounding, and Wade Wangsness leads in assists.

The doubleheader is scheduled to begin at 6:15 p.m., with pregame coverage starting at 6 p.m.
