Head Coach Joel Reints says the team looks forward to its first meet of the new year, especially with the opportunity to wrestle quality opponents.
“You’re always a little concerned about a little rust coming off the break. I think our guys know what’s at stake. They always like to beat the Dike-Hartford team. They’re going to want to win that dual. They’re going to go out and give it their best effort,” says Reints. “Wapsie Valley is always a really tough school and a tough wrestling school. I told them at practice today it’s going to take our best effort to beat those guys. Our kids will go out compete and give it all they got. I’m confident in that.”
Wapsie Valley (4-8) last timeout went 1-5 at the Dan Gable Museum Battle of Waterloo on December 20. Sawyer Krall is 16-3 at 138 and 144 with seven falls. Kiptyn Cox is 13-7 at 126 with five falls.
