The Hampton-Dumont-CAL wrestling teams will each host triangulars with Iowa Falls-Alden and Charles City Thursday. The meet will air on 104.9 KLMJ and RadioOnTheGo’s YouTube channel.
The Bulldog boys are coming off a 1-1 outing at Tuesday’s triangular at Webster City, where they defeated the hosts and fell to #1 (2A) Clarion-Goldfield-Dows. Some of the top wrestlers so far have been Luke Showalter, who’s 15-6 at 144 with eight pins. Ryder Strother is 13-8 at 165 and Brody Strother is 12-7 at 138, and #12 (2A-215) Maddon Evans is 15-4.
In their most recent action, the Cadets placed seventh at a tournament at Osage Saturday. Trayvahn Williams placed second at 285 to highlight the day. Ranked #3 in 2A at 126, Kolbe Hansen is 12-4.
The Bulldog girls will look to build on Monday’s 3-0 outing at a home quad, which included a win over Charles City. At 24-1, Maren Subbert leads the team in wins and is ranked #4 in 1A at 190. Juliette Koch at 155 and Avalon Mulford at 235 are each 21-6, among the win leaders.
IFA went 2-1 at Monday’s quad at Clear Lake. They’ve already notched dual wins over Hampton-Dumont-CAL and Charles City earlier in the season.
The meet will start at 6:00 p.m. with coverage starting at 5:45.
