First place at BGM highlights weekend for AP/GC

The AP/GC boys wrestling team dominated the competition, winning Saturday’s Corky Stuart Invitational at BGM.

Zion Uhlenhopp had a technical fall, decision and pin on his way to the 120 championship. Devan Eberhart was the champion at 144, earning second period pins in each of his three matches. Maison Copp won the title at 215, winning each match by fall, including 0:42 in the final.

Gage Miller placed second at 150, and Chevy Richardson was the runner-up at 285. Those who placed third included Leo Block at 106, Josh Elsberry at 132, Parker Mulder at 175 and Mason Pruisner at 190.

On Friday, the AP/GC girls placed fifth at the Central Elkader Invitational. At 125, Grace Storjohann was the team’s only champion. She got pins in the first round and championship match, with technical falls in the quarterfinal and semifinal. No others reached the podium, but Lila Reints was the next highest placewinner by finishing fourth at 145.
