Republican U.S. Senate candidate Jim Carlin has received an endorsement from Houston-based physician Dr. Mary Talley Bowden. The endorsement was announced last Wednesday (1/7/26) during Bowden’s weekly podcast. Bowden is known for her advocacy of medical freedom and for treating thousands of COVID-19 patients during the pandemic.
She cited Carlin’s opposition to vaccine mandates and his stance on individual liberties as key reasons for her support. Bowden also pointed to Carlin’s campaign focus on easing economic pressure on middle-class families through reduced government spending. Carlin is a former Iowa state senator and attorney running for the U.S. Senate seat in Iowa being vacated by current Senator, Republican Joni Ernst. Carlin’s campaign said he welcomed the endorsement and described Bowden as a prominent voice on personal freedom issues.
Campaign officials say Carlin is emphasizing personal liberty, economic relief, and what he calls restoring common sense in Washington.
