Hampton City Council hears FY27 budget requests at workshop

The Hampton City Council heard funding requests from several community organizations during a budget workshop Monday night as officials continue early planning for the city’s fiscal year 2027 budget.

Presentations were given by Mary Amsbaugh, executive director of the Franklin County Development Association; Suzy Knipfel, director of the Hampton Public Library; and Elisa Van Wert, director of the Greater Franklin County Chamber of Commerce, who outlined funding needs for Main Street Hampton and the Building Improvement Grant program.

Council member Jim Davies also presented a funding request on behalf of the Hampton Historic Preservation Commission, and the council acknowledged written requests from the Hampton Municipal Band and the Hampton Senior Center.
