The West Fork boys wrestling team will take a long road trip at North Union for a Top of Iowa Conference quad on Thursday. Also in competition will be Newman Catholic and Estherville Lincoln Central. It will air on 104.9 KLMJ.

West Fork placed 15th at the GTRA Invite on Saturday. Jensen Robbins is 10-12 at 215. Andrew Baker at 165 and Preston Starr at 144 each have five wins apiece. Head Coach Keaton Wilson shares the Warhawks preparation for the duals.

“Last weekend we wrestled better, not great yet, but better in certain positions. We just got to feel danger. We’re up 10-0 in a match, we’re going into the second period and we’re getting pinned in the second period because we just don’t feel positioning yet. I’m really stressing that this week early,” says Wilson. “Otherwise, the boys are looking good. They’re hungry. I don’t have to coach effort, that is something that I’m very grateful for. No matter who they wrestle, they step out and give it their best effort, win or lose. You can’t ask for more as a coach.”

North Union placed 11th at the GTRA Invite on Saturday. Max Merrill is 21-4 at 165 and 175. Castor Kollasch is 18-9 at 144.

Newman Catholic went 2-3 at the Storm Dual tournament at BCLUW-SH on Saturday. The Knights won against BCLUW-SH and South Hamilton and lost to Dike-New Hartford, Hudson and Southeast Polk JV. Patrick Spooner is 14-10 at 113 and 120. Owen Hanig at 150 and 157 is 10-13.

Estherville Lincoln Central placed fourth at GTRA Invite on Saturday. Braxton Johnson is 22-4 at 144 and 150. Layton Yager is 20-4 at 157,165 and 175.

Coverage will begin at 5:45 p.m. followed by the first dual at 6:00 p.m. in Swea City.
