
The 2026 Iowa State Dance and Drill Team Association Championships will air on Iowa PBS this weekend, celebrating the event’s 50th anniversary.
The championships were held December 3–5, 2025, at Casey’s Center and the EMC Expo Center in Des Moines. Nearly 5,000 dance athletes representing 245 high school teams and 26 college teams from across Iowa took part in the event.
Locally, West Fork captured four team state titles in Class III Pom, Class II Hip Hop, Class II Jazz, and Class I Mix. In the individual competition, West Fork also had a strong showing in Class II Solo, where Kylin Johnson won a state title, Adra Johnson placed second, Emerli Johnson finished third, and Nahla Wilson earned sixth place.
Iowa Falls-Alden finished as the state runner-up in Class VII Pom. In Class V Solo competition, Hayden Off placed third, while Kenna Jack Foley finished 10th.
Hampton-Dumont-CAL earned runner-up honors in Class II Lights, while Grundy Center finished second in Class I Prop. AGWSR placed fifth in Class I Mix, and Aplington-Parkersburg’s Samantha Carlson finished seventh in Class I Solo.
The championships will premiere statewide on Iowa PBS on Saturday, January 17, at 7 p.m., with a rebroadcast scheduled for Sunday, January 18, at 1 p.m.
