The Greene City Council met in regular session Monday at the Greene Community Center with council members approving the city’s 2024–2025 annual financial exam presented by CPA Larry Pump. Pump reported 13 findings, most of which were recurring from previous years, and said all were considered minor with no major concerns identified.
The council also approved the ambulance budget for the 2026–27 fiscal year. The budget includes potential replacement of a heart monitor and repairs to the rescue truck.
Council members approved the hiring of Drew Engel for the sexton/city position following interviews conducted by the cemetery board and the city’s personnel committee.
Later in the meeting, the council entered a closed session to discuss a real estate matter before directing the city attorney to prepare a counteroffer. The council also received an update on progress toward reopening the AMS Memorial nursing home.
