The North Central Conference Girls Wrestling Tournament will happen Saturday at Algona, with coverage airing on 104.9 KLMJ and RadioOnTheGo’s YouTube channel.
Hampton-Dumont-CAL will compete for the first time since a quad at West Fork Monday, where they went 2-1. Head Coach Brittany Stevens hopes her team can improve on some of its offensive attacks while holding their ground defensively.
“We’re going to work on our hip control, we’re going to work on being more offensive,” Stevens says. “We’re very good defensively. We’ve got a strong hand fight, good control there, but we want to see it into more of our setups, into our take downs.”
In last season’s conference tournament, Maren Subbert was the champion at 190 and Megan Severs placed second at 145.
Iowa Falls-Alden will look to improve upon last season’s fourth place finish at the tournament. They had no wrestlers place higher than third last year.
It’ll start at 10:00 a.m.
