The Hampton City Council will hold a workshop Monday focusing on potential regulations for keeping chickens within city limits and FY27 budget considerations.
Council members will review a draft ordinance that builds on discussions from previous workshops in November and December. Topics under review have included coop size, chicken-run dimensions, property requirements, maximum flock size, permit fees and limits on ownership to hens only. The ordinance also addresses fencing standards and prohibits chickens on properties with recent nuisance violations.
The workshop will also include discussions on the fiscal year 2027 budget, including proposed changes to the budget calendar.
The meeting is scheduled for 6:00 p.m. Monday at city hall.
