Hampton police investigate gunfire early Saturday; No injuries reported

Hampton police responded early Saturday morning to reports of gunfire in the 200 block of 12th Avenue NE. The call came in at approximately 2:46 a.m., and officers arrived quickly, determining that no one was injured.

During the investigation, authorities identified a person of interest. 28-year-old Thomas Allen Luhmann of Peterson, Minnesota, was taken into custody and booked into jail. Luhmann faces charges of disorderly conduct, unlawful possession of a prescription drug and reckless use of a firearm. He was held on bond following his initial court appearance.

The Hampton Police Department was assisted at the scene by a Franklin County Deputy Sheriff. Police say the investigation is ongoing and are asking anyone with additional information to contact the department at 641-456-2529.

No further details regarding the motive or circumstances of the shooting have been released.
