The Iowa Department of Transportation has launched a new statewide online scheduling and in-office queuing system aimed at making driver’s license and vehicle registration services faster and more convenient.
Beginning today, Iowans can use a single website to schedule appointments for DMV services at Iowa DOT service centers and county treasurer offices in 79 participating counties. Locally, the Franklin, Grundy and Butler county treasurer offices are participating in the new system.
The platform connects more than 100 state and county locations statewide, allowing customers to compare appointment availability and choose the location that best fits their needs. The system also guides users by service type first, such as renewing a driver’s license or titling a vehicle, ensuring customers are directed to offices that can provide the requested service.
DOT officials say future upgrades will include features to confirm eligibility and ensure customers arrive with the proper documents. Additional counties are expected to be added over time.
