
In their first rematches of the season, the Hampton-Dumont-CAL basketball teams earned a home sweep of Webster City Tuesday. The girls won 41-25 and the boys won 58-50.
The girls trailed 10-7 after the first quarter. But in the second, they held the Lynx without a point until the 1:33 mark. It was 21-12 Bulldogs at halftime. HDCAL played with a similar pace throughout the second half, led by a career-high 29 points by MacKenzy Valley.
In the boys game, the Bulldogs trailed 14-9 after the first quarter, but battled back in a closely contested second quarter. They led 29-26 at halftime, and went back-and-forth through the next 12 minutes of game time. Midway through the fourth quarter, the Bulldogs jumped out to a 12-point lead, and completed the season sweep. Brady Harr led with 18 points, with 14 added by Tramaine Horton.
They’ll return to action Thursday by hosting Clear Lake.
