Franklin County Sheriff Aaron Dodd says an Ackley man was arrested following an accident investigation Tuesday night.
According to Franklin County Sheriff’s Office media logs, deputies were called at about 10:40 p.m. to a property damage accident near 105th Street and Thrush Avenue in rural Geneva where it was determined a vehicle had run off the roadway.
Dodd says Andrew L. Havens, 35, of Ackley, left a minor child inside the vehicle and walked away from the scene. Deputies later located Havens walking in a nearby field.
Havens was taken to the Franklin County Sheriff’s Office and held overnight on charges of operating while intoxicated, possession of drug paraphernalia, open container, child endangerment and leaving the scene of an accident.
Dodd says Havens later appeared before a magistrate and was released on his own recognizance.
