The AP/GC boys wrestling team was dominant in sweeping a triangular at BCLUW-SH Thursday, as aired on 99 The Wave and RadioOnTheGo’s YouTube channel.

In the opening dual, the Storm beat Oelwein 48-23. In an unusual circumstance, they won the dual without winning a match. Oelwein got two pins, a win by forfeit and a technical fall for their points, winning each of the three matches that took place.

AP/GC got a perfect score in an 84-0 win over Oelwein. The Huskies were open at 11 weight classes. Josh Elsberry at 138, Gage Miller at 150 and Chevy Richardson at 285 each got pins.

The Falcons beat the Storm 72-12. They got nine pins, including by Johnny Moen at 113, Zion Uhlenhopp at 120, Landry Johnson at 132, Elsberry at 138, Devan Eberhart at 144, Miller at 150, Parker Mulder at 175, Mason Pruisner at 190 and Chevy Richardson at 285. Head Coach Joel Reints says the team’s collective work ethic has put them in a great position to win duals with ease.

“I’m just happy we’re to a point now we can just come out and take care of business and and beat these teams like that,” Reints says. “It’s a lot of hard work by these young men to get to this point. They do the right thing in the wrestling room, and they work really hard in the weight room. The combination of that stuff has really paid off.”

They’ll return to action Saturday at a tournament at Belle Plaine.
