Latimer firefighters worked through cold and windy conditions Thursday afternoon to extinguish a shed fire.
Franklin County Sheriff Aaron Dodd tells RadioOnTheGo News the Sheriff’s Office received a call at 1:00 p.m. from a homeowner reporting a shed fire in the 1800 block of Indigo Avenue, about three miles north of Latimer.
The homeowner said they returned home to find the shed fully engulfed in smoke and flames. Dodd says Latimer Fire crews were able to quickly contain the fire, but the building, which housed tools and equipment, was a total loss.
The cause of the fire remains unknown. The Latimer Fire Department was assisted by the Franklin County Sheriff’s Office and Franklin General Ambulance.
