
The Franklin County Board of Supervisors held a regular meeting Monday morning, addressing budget matters, county operations and several administrative actions.
Supervisors received committee updates, including reports from the Central Iowa Juvenile Detention Center and the CICS Governing Board.
The board heard departmental updates from Secondary Roads Engineer Jay Waddingham and met with representatives from Access Inc. regarding a fiscal year 2027 budget funding request, though no action was taken.
Supervisors approved the use of opioid settlement funding for the Sheriff’s App following a budget amendment and reviewed FY27 budget items with the sheriff’s office.
The board also approved a utility addendum to the FGH lease for Veterans Affairs and Environmental Health services, directed the county to carry builder’s risk insurance for the courthouse electrical upgrade project, and appointed Nick Bretz to the Franklin County Conservation Board with a term ending Dec. 31, 2026.
