
The North Butler-Clarksville boys wrestling team placed eighth and West Fork finished 13th at the Top of Iowa Conference tournament at Forest City on Saturday.
NBC’s Jaxon Shew was the conference champion at 113. Shew had a fall, a technical fall and a win by a 14-9 decision in the first place bout. Maddox Morrison placed third at 132 for the Wolves. Morrison, after falling in the quarterfinal round, wrestled back through the consolation bracket with three wins by fall and a win by a 9-6 decision in the third place match.
West Fork’s top finisher was Jameson O’Connor who placed fourth at 113. O’Connor, after falling the quarterfinal round, wrestled back through the consolation bracket with two wins by fall before a loss by fall in the third place match.
In their next action, North Butler-Clarksville will travel to South Winneshiek for a quad on Tuesday and West Fork will travel to Northwood-Kensett for a quad on Tuesday.
