
The Register’s Annual Great Bicycle Ride Across Iowa (RAGBRAI) committee announced the route for RAGBRAI LIII during an announcement party on Saturday. This year’s theme is An Iowa Classic.
The route will start in Onawa. Riders will cycle through Harlan, Guthrie Center, Boone, Marshalltown, Independence and Dyersville. The week long ride will conclude in Dubuque. This will be their shortest ever route and tenth hilliest RAGBRAI, covering 391.4 miles and 16,027 feet of climb. The ride will take place July 18-25, 2026.
RAGBRAI began in 1973 and remains the longest, largest, and oldest recreational bicycle touring event in the world. 474,103 riders have participated since 1973.
