
The Alden City Council approved multiple agreements, grant projects and infrastructure items during its regular meeting Monday night.
According to the meeting minutes, the council approved a 28E mutual aid fire agreement with Grant Lee Township and appointed Chris Kuhnle as Alden’s primary representative and Harley Mourlam as the alternate representative to Hardin County Waste and Recycling.
The council also approved the Franklin County REC “Little Book House” community project, which will place a take-a-book, leave-a-book library at the campground shelter, with the city maintaining the site.
In public works actions, the council approved the purchase of a new sander for $8,500 and authorized several grant applications, including projects for pool safety upgrades, park restroom improvements and campground waterline work.
Council members also set upcoming budget and public hearing dates, including a Feb. 4 budget work session.
