Iowa Falls-Alden basketball will host Webster City in NCC rematch Tuesday

The Iowa Falls-Alden basketball will play part two of back to back North Central Conference rematches, as they host Webster City on Tuesday. The Cadet girls won (40-30) and the Lynx boys won (62-39) in their first meetings on December 16.

The Iowa Falls-Alden boys are on the hunt for their first win since December 4, after 86-27 at #2 (3A) Clear Lake on Monday. Entering the week Karsen Kalous led the team with 10.9 points per game, while shooting 31 percent from the field. Head Coach Mike Holm says the team is working to improve on the controllables.

“Keeping our turnovers down, ball control, communication and just trying to outwork the teams we play. We know we struggle offensively, but those other things we can control a little bit more,” says Holm. “We really need to dial in, stay focused for four quarters and work on the things that we can control a little bit more. The kids are working hard and they’re gonna work to the end. We’ll hopefully keep getting better day after day.”

The Webster City boys will look to for their first win since January 3, after falling 47-37 at home to Humboldt on Friday. Coyce Bertran leads the team with 13 points per game, while shooting 37.3 percent from the field.

The Iowa Falls-Alden girls will look to halt a three game slide after falling 47-33 at Clear Lake on Monday. The Cadets earn extra possessions with 15 steals per game (the most in the NCC). Entering the week, Elody England had set the tone with 19 points per game while shooting over 30 percent from the field (36.1) and beyond the arc (32.4).

The Webster City girls held on 44-39 to win at home over Humboldt on Friday. The Lynx extend possessions with 11 offensive rebounds per game. Evie Davis averages a double-double with 14 points and 12 rebounds per game. 

Action begins at 6:00 p.m. in Iowa Falls.
