Clarion-Goldfield-Dows Boys Wrestling Coach Cory Yoder has been named the Iowa Wrestling Coaches and Officials Association’s Class 2A Central District Coach of the Year.

In his first season, the team has compiled a 20-4 dual record while maintaining a top-two spot in each of the dual team rankings. As of the latest IAwrestle individual rankings, eight individuals from the team are ranked.

The Cowboys were champions of both the regular season duals and individual tournament of the North Central Conference. They’ve earned the right to host a regional dual on Tuesday, February 3, needing one win to advance to the state tournament.

After receiving the honor, Yoder will be in the running for the organization’s statewide Coach of the Year award.
