
The Grundy County Board of Supervisors covered budget planning, labor negotiations and departmental updates during its regular meeting on Jan. 19.
Supervisors appointed Chairperson Heidi Nederhoff and Supervisor Mark Schildroth as county negotiators for the upcoming collective bargaining agreement with Public, Professional and Maintenance Employees.
County Engineer Jeff Skalberg and Sheriff Kirk Dolleslager both provided departmental updates, with the sheriff also reviewing the FY2027 budget.
The board heard a quarterly update from Grundy County Memorial Hospital CEO Adam Scherling and Hospital Board Chair Rick Smith.
Multiple departments presented FY2027 budget reviews, including the county attorney’s office, conservation, veterans affairs, the treasurer’s office, driver’s license services, and planning and zoning.
Supervisors also recognized Deputy Sheriff Samuel Broome with a five-year service award.
