A popular winter event in Franklin County has been rescheduled due to limited snow.
Franklin County Conservation’s annual Moonlight Ski and Shoe at Maynes Grove, originally planned for this Saturday, will now take place February 28th from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m.
The evening event gives participants the chance to explore moonlit trails by ski or snowshoe around the pond at Maynes Grove, just south of Hampton.
Franklin and Wright County Naturalist Aubrey Brandt says attendees can bring their own equipment, but skis and snowshoes will also be available on a first-come, first-served basis.
Conservation officials say the date was moved because snowfall was not sufficient for cross-country skiing, and they’re hopeful for better conditions by the end of February.
