The North Butler basketball teams will take the floor against West Fork for senior night and the next chapter of their Top of Iowa East rivalry on Tuesday. The Warhawk girls won 59-25 and the Bearcat boys won 54-40 in their first meeting on January 6.

The West Fork girls won 60-22 at Northwood-Kensett on Monday. The scoring duo of Brylee Dickman and Zada Huff with 11 points apiece per game set the tone for the Warhawks. Head Coach Rodney Huber reflects on the play of Dickman and Huff.

“Brylee and Zada remain scorers from night to night. Zada is a great three point shooter. Teams really have to know where she’s at on the floor, she can get hot in a hurry and bust games open for us,” says Huber. “Brylee is kind of a swiss army knife, does a little bit of everything, even handling the ball a little bit for us, kind of a point forward at times.”

The North Butler girls fell 73-31 at #12 (1A) Saint Ansgar on Monday. Eden Wix paces the Bearcats with 11 points and 8.7 rebounds per game. Head Coach Jordan Nolz’s thoughts on the rematch with the Warhawks.

“West Fork last time we played them, I think the game before they played us they shot about 15 %. We played them the next night, we didn’t play our A game by any means but they shot really well as a team and kind of stepped up,” says Nolz. “We’re looking to go home, senior night. We’ve got three seniors who have been with us, playing a lot of minutes varsity over the past how many years. I hope we can get the win for them. Come out and compete. We’re really excited for that.”

The West Fork boys won 72-31 at Northwood-Kensett on Monday. The Warhawks have controlled the boards with 36 rebounds including 13.5 offensive rebounds per game (second most in the conference). Zander Hansen leads the team with 13.6 points per game.

The North Butler boys fell 45-31 at Saint Ansgar on Monday. The Bearcats have boxed in opponent offenses allowing 43 points per game (leads the conference). Jarrett Shear leads the team with 12.7 points and six rebounds per game.
