Supervisors award contract for courthouse electrical upgrade

The Franklin County Board of Supervisors approved a construction contract and took several other actions during its regular meeting Tuesday morning.

Supervisors awarded a $337,000 contract to Carl A. Nelson & Company of Burlington for the Franklin County Courthouse electrical services upgrade. The bid was the lowest responsive bid received for the project. The board also approved project plans and specifications and finalized the bidding process following a brief public hearing that drew no objections.

The board also approved an environmental self-audit update for the Rehm Site and set March 3 at 9:30 a.m. as the date for a public hearing on a proposed 2026 Building Restoration Urban Renewal Area tied to courthouse improvements.
