The Clarion-Goldfield-Dows wrestling team is headed to Coralville for the State Duals, and the community is being invited to help send them off in style.
School officials say the Cowboys will depart from the high school at 3:30 p.m. Friday and travel down Main Street as they leave town. Community members and local businesses are encouraged to line the street to show their support as the team heads out.
Organizers are inviting residents to step outside, wave, hold signs or cheer as the team passes by, saying a strong show of community support means a great deal to the athletes and coaches who earned a spot at the state tournament.
Supporters say the send-off is a way to show pride in the team’s hard work and help them head to Coralville with confidence and hometown pride.
