The Belmond-Klemme basketball teams will host Forest City for a Top of Iowa Conference doubleheader Tuesday night, which’ll air on 104.9 KLMJ.

For the Broncos girls, the game will close out the regular season ahead of postseason play next week. Belmond-Klemme is led in scoring by Kendra Huedepohl, while Nevi McMurray leads the team in rebounds and Kaylen Morris paces the Broncos in assists.

The Forest City girls, ranked No. 7 in Class 3A, enter the matchup led in scoring by Hayden Brown. Jenna Dontje leads the team in rebounds, while Lexi Isebrand leads in assists.

The Broncos boys enter the game sitting third in the Top of Iowa West standings. Brody Heifner leads the team in scoring and rebounding and also ranks in the top five in the Top of Iowa West in both categories. Griffin Paulsen leads Belmond-Klemme in assists.

Forest City sits second in the Top of Iowa West standings and is led in scoring by Creighton Wirth, while Cooper Blaser leads the team in both rebounds and assists.

Broncos Head Coach Justin Meyer says the game provides a postseason-style test.

“That’s gonna be a fun game, just in terms of it’s gonna be a really good kind of precursor,” says Meyer. “It’s a game that you want as a precursor to postseason. And additionally, our pairings will be out by then. So, ultimately, we’re kind of playing with house money that way, that no matter win, lose or draw, it doesn’t necessarily affect our seeding.”

Tip off is set to begin at 6 p.m. with pregame coverage starting at 5:45.
