Authorities have released additional information in a drug case first reported earlier this month involving a 53-year-old Iowa Falls man.

According to the Franklin County Sheriff’s Office, John W. Larson was stopped Feb. 5 while driving a 1999 Chevrolet. A narcotics detection K-9 alerted to the presence of drugs in the vehicle. Authorities say Larson was found in possession of methamphetamine, cocaine and drug paraphernalia, leading to his arrest.

Larson was charged with possession of methamphetamine in an amount greater than five grams but less than five kilograms, a Class B felony, possession of cocaine, a Class C Felony, and possession of drug paraphernalia, a simple misdemeanor. He was held in the Hardin County Jail on a $25,000 cash-only bond.

Franklin County Sheriff Aaron Dodd tells RadioOnTheGo News that a search warrant was executed Thursday, Feb. 12 at Larson’s residence in Iowa Falls. Dodd says additional charges are pending after more illegal items were located inside the home.

Larson remains in custody at the Hardin County Jail.
