The Iowa Falls School Board met Tuesday to review the district’s budget forecast and ongoing projects.
Superintendent Tony Neuman said with the governor’s proposed 2% state supplementary aid, the district would see just under $6,000 in new funding, while the Senate’s 1.75% proposal with an additional $5 equity adjustment would provide roughly $9,000 in new money. Due to these uncertainties, the board approved the Budget Guarantee Resolution.
Board members also received updates on construction at the district’s new entrance, which is now open for events. Students are scheduled to move into the new space March 3rd, allowing staff to relocate offices.
The board approved a partnership with Ellsworth Community College for a statue at Cadet Field, part of a community initiative to place painted ECC “Pounce” statues throughout Iowa Falls celebrating school pride, creativity, and collaboration.
