
The Iowa Falls and Alden school boards will meet jointly Monday, which includes a public hearing on the proposed 2026-27 school calendar. The draft calendar sets the first day of classes for August 24th and includes a two-week winter break.
The boards are scheduled to review a plan for potential make-up days for the remainder of the 2025-26 school year if additional days are missed. In addition, they will discuss the current superintendent sharing agreement, which expires at the end of the 2025-26 school year. Both districts must notify each other by March 1st whether they intend to continue the agreement.
Following the joint meeting, the Alden School Board will meet in regular session to review the fiscal year 2027 budget forecast including enrollment and state supplemental aid. Also on the agenda is a review of programming and staffing for the next school year.
The joint meeting of the Iowa Falls and Alden school boards begins at 5:30 p.m. Monday at the Alden library with Alden’s regular board meeting to follow at the elementary school office conference room.
