clarksville-2-2

The North Butler girls basketball team will defend their home court as they face Central Springs for a third time this season in a Class 2A Region 5 first round matchup on Saturday. The Bearcats swept the regular season series with a 48-36 win on Dec.19 and a 46-21 win on Jan.20.

North Butler (10-11) concluded the regular season with a thrilling 40-37 road win over Nashua-Plainfield on Tuesday. The Bearcats offense is fueled by 12 assists per game (second most in the conference). Eden Wix establishes a post presence for the team with 11 points and 8.3 rebounds per game. Head Coach Jordan Nolz shares how the team is preparing for the rubber match with the Panthers.

“We’re preparing like any other game, doing our proper scouting, watching our proper film, we just have a couple extra days we got to prepare for,” says Nolz. “One of the big things is you never know if another team is going to bring out something new. We kind of have to prepare at a high level for everything.”

Central Springs (1-20) will be in search of their first win since Dec.8. The Panthers have been challenged in the scoring department, averaging 23 points per game. Riley Ryan leads the team with 5.2 points per game.

Action will begin at 7:00 p.m. in Greene.
