
The Aplington City Council met in regular session Feb. 11 at City Hall, approving several equipment purchases and setting a public hearing date for the proposed property tax levy.
In public works business, the council approved purchasing used rubber mats for $10 each and authorized the trade-in and purchase of a riding lawn mower.
The council also approved moving forward with a fee proposal for the Fire and EMS building after hearing from Brian Stark with MSA.
During budget discussions, council members set March 25 at 6 p.m. for a public hearing on the proposed property tax levy.
In other action, the council approved ordering a 2026 Ford F-600 truck with a dump body, plow and sander. The truck will be paid for in fiscal year 2027 using savings.
