The West Fork girls basketball team will host East Marshall for the first time in program history, as the teams meet in a Class 2A Region 1 quarterfinal on Tuesday.
West Fork (10-11) concluded the regular season with a 58-57 loss in the closing seconds to Osage on Tuesday, February 10. The Warhawks defense delivers extra offensive possessions with 10.6 steals per game. Zada Huff with 12 points and Brylee Dickman with 10 points per game fuel the Warhawks. Head Coach Rodney Huber says consistency and readiness to rebound will factor into the matchup.
“We’re at home that helps us out. Hopeful that we just come out and we play well. At this point, like we said consistency, what we’re going to get from night to night. We’ve got to be on top of things,” says Huber. “I think they’re a pretty good rebounding team, so we’ve got to make sure that we rebound the ball well. That’s been an area that we need to clean up a little bit too. The game we feel good about, if we do the things that we need to.”
East Marshall (6-16) concluded the regular season with a 41-31 win over Columbus Catholic on Tuesday, February 10. The Mustangs keep possessions alive by crashing the offensive boards with 10 rebounds per game. Alivia Neuroth and Sydney Hull lead the Mustangs with seven points per game apiece.
