The Hardin County Sheriff’s Office has launched a new mobile app designed to improve communication and access to information for residents.

Earlier this week, Hardin County officials announced the rollout of the Sheriff’s Office app on the department’s Facebook page. The free app is available for Apple and Android devices.

The app allows residents to contact the Sheriff’s Office or submit tips through their mobile device. It also provides access to Iowa 511, giving motorists up-to-date road condition information in one place.

Additional features include alerts from the National Weather Service, area maps of registered sex offenders, weapon permit information, and inmate and jail details. Users can also find information on how to obtain records such as accident reports, noncriminal fingerprinting service information, and details on upcoming sheriff’s sales.
